Our specialty is custom made cabinetry and woodworking to match a client's existing woodwork. We build (or rebuild) cabinets, including custom kitchens and countertops. We also build entertainment centers, bookcases, end tables, hall trees, desks and other specialized furniture. We have built sunrooms and other room additions, replaced windows and doors, and remodeled bathrooms, including tile work.
Some of the unique pieces we have designed and built in the Toledo, Ohio, area include: wall caps up to 66 feet long for the Westfield Franklin Park food court; copper roofed cupolas; a 5' long semi tractor-trailer toy box that could be driven and ridden in; a slide that went down the basement stairway and provided hours of fun for the whole neighborhood for many years; a roofed garden swing that looked like it belonged in the yard of a Swiss chalet.
We remodeled a bar that had been burned in the Toledo Club. There we also made a new walnut cabinet to match the dining room, and covered a tile wall in the former Men's Grill to match the original walnut paneled décor.
At the University of Toledo we created a desk for the president's secretary to match the sand-blasted oak paneling from the early 1900s. We also built and installed indirect lighting in the president's conference room using the same sand-blasted oak.
We even built the fiberglass aluminum framed service box on the Kustom Krafters F-350 truck that is equipped with about 80 drawers to accommodate a moving workshop. It has seen service on 2 chassis since 1987.
Gilbert's signature cabinet design is a set of cabinets that slide out like large drawers.
